Detailed WiFi Setup on ZTE ZXHN H298A
Accessing the Admin Panel
- Connect to the Router
Ensure your computer or device is connected to the ZTE ZXHN H298A router via an Ethernet cable or connected to its WiFi network if previously established.
- Open a Web Browser
Launch your preferred web browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.).
- Enter the Router's IP Address
In the address bar, type the router's default IP address:
http://192.168.1.1 and press
Enter.
Note: If this IP does not work, check for a label on the router or refer to the documentation to confirm the correct IP.
- Login to the Admin Panel
You will be prompted to enter your login credentials.

admin - After entering the credentials, click on the
Login button.

Note: If the default credentials do not work, your ISP may have customized them. Refer to your ISP or the router's documentation for assistance on recovering or resetting your password.
Configuring WiFi Settings
- Navigate to the WLAN Settings
After successfully logging in, you will be directed to the admin panel's main dashboard.
Locate and click on
Network in the left sidebar menu.
- Select WLAN
In the dropdown menu under
Network, select
WLAN to proceed to the wireless settings.
- Configure Wireless Network Settings

SSID (Network Name):
Locate the
SSID field. Type the desired name for your WiFi network. This is the name that will be displayed when devices search for wireless networks.

Wireless Mode:
Choose the preferred wireless mode, typically set to
802.11 b/g/n to support all common devices.

Channel:
Select a channel (Auto is recommended) or manually choose a channel based on your environment to enhance performance.

Security Mode:
Set the security mode to
WPA2-PSK for optimal security.

WPA Pre-Shared Key (Password):
Enter a strong password for your WiFi network in the WPA Pre-Shared Key field, ensuring it’s at least 8 characters long. This will secure your network from unauthorized access.
- Save the Settings
After configuring the above settings, locate and click the
Apply or
Save button at the bottom of the page to ensure all changes are stored.
- Reboot the Router (if required)
Some settings may require a reboot of the router to take effect. If prompted, confirm the reboot.
Final Verification
- Reconnect to the Network
If you changed the SSID or password, disconnect from the WiFi network on your device and reconnect using the new credentials.
- Check Connectivity
Open a browser and try to access the internet to confirm that your WiFi settings are working correctly.
