Performing the Factory Reset


  1. Locate the Reset Button: Find the small reset button on the back panel of the router.


  1. Reset the Router:

- Press and hold the reset button for about 10 seconds.
- Release the button when the Power LED begins to flash.
- Wait for the router to reboot. This may take a few minutes.

  1. Reconnect: After the router has rebooted, all settings will be reverted to factory defaults.

- Your SSID will be reset to the default names (e.g., NETGEAR_R7000).
- The default admin login is admin for the username and password for the password.

Optional: Reconfigure the Router


  • After the reset, log into the admin panel at http://192.168.1.1 to reconfigure your settings as needed.
