Factory Reset Guide for ASUS RT-AX88U

Soft Reset via ASUSWRT Panel

1. Log in to 192.168.1.1 or router.asus.com.

1. Navigate to Administration > Restore/Save/Upload Setting.

1. Click Factory Default and confirm.

1. The router reboots with factory defaults — wait 3 minutes.

Hard Reset via Physical Button

1. Ensure RT-AX88U is powered on (Power LED solid white).

1. Locate the RESET pinhole on the rear panel.

1. Insert a paperclip and hold for 10 seconds until the Power LED flashes slowly.

1. Release the button.

1. Wait 2-3 minutes for the NVRAM wipe and reboot.

1. Navigate to 192.168.1.1 or router.asus.com to run Quick Internet Setup.

WPS Button Reset Method (Alternative)

1. Power off the RT-AX88U.

1. Press and hold the WPS button on the rear panel.

1. While holding WPS, power the router back on.

1. Continue holding WPS until the Power LED flashes rapidly.

1. Release — the router will clear NVRAM and reboot with factory defaults.
