Learn how to access your TP-Link Archer or Deco router admin panel. Find default credentials, IP gateways, step-by-step connection flow, and detailed troubleshooting solutions to secure your network.
TP-Link routers provide a dashboard to control local Wi-Fi, port forwarding, and security configurations. To access this admin dashboard, connect to your router's network and navigate to the local hostname tplinkwifi.net or its IP gateway address, typically 192.168.0.1.
For more details on router configurations, check our Router Login Guide and read our directory of Router Login Hostnames.
Older TP-Link routers (manufactured before 2018) use the legacy default username admin and default password admin. Modern TP-Link models require you to establish a secure, custom password the first time you visit the setup wizard at tplinkwifi.net.
If you have forgotten your password, perform a factory reset. For instructions on resetting, see our Router Reset Guide or check our list of manufacturer defaults in our Router Password Guide.
Once logged into the admin interface, you can adjust settings to improve security and speed:
If you are using TP-Link Deco mesh systems, note that browser hostnames do not apply. Instead, read our Mesh WiFi Guide or follow the specialized instructions inside Mesh WiFi Setup Guide to configure Deco systems.
If you cannot access the admin interface, check if a VPN is active or if your browser has secure DNS active. Disabling these options will restore local DNS resolution. If issues persist, refer to our troubleshooting guides: TP-Link Login Not Working and Netgear Router Login Guide for comparative troubleshooting.
For advanced features like NAT rules, port forwarding, or port checking, see our Port Forwarding Guide and test your ports. You can also view your external parameters using our What Is My IP Tool.
For profiles of other hardware, you can browse all brands under our general Router Brands Directory, or check brand-specific profiles such as the TP-Link Routers Guide, Netgear Routers Guide, or routerlogin.net Guide.
To maintain security across all devices, follow the best practices in Wi-Fi Security to audit connected devices on your network.
Use your device to scan for Wi-Fi networks and connect to your TP-Link router's primary SSID. Alternatively, run an RJ45 Ethernet cable from your computer to the router's LAN port.
Disable any active VPN client or proxy configurations on your system. Public DNS parameters will block local name resolution.
Open a fresh web browser tab, enter http://tplinkwifi.net in the URL address bar, and hit Enter. Make sure not to use search engines.
Input username 'admin' and password 'admin' (for legacy routers) or enter the custom password you configured during your initial installation.
Connect to the TP-Link WiFi network, open a web browser, type http://tplinkwifi.net or 192.168.0.1 in the address bar, and enter your admin password (or admin/admin for older models).
Most TP-Link routers use 192.168.0.1. Some configurations, especially those running in access point mode, default to 192.168.1.1. Type these directly in your browser's URL address bar.
Press and hold the physical Reset button on the back of the router for 8-10 seconds using a pin. This restores factory defaults, including the default credentials.
Yes, you can use the TP-Link Tether app for Archer routers or the TP-Link Deco app for Deco mesh systems. They allow local and remote management over a smartphone.
