Factory Reset Guide for Huawei HG8245H5

Soft Reset via Admin Panel

1. Log in to 192.168.100.1 with telecomadmin credentials.

1. Navigate to System > Configuration Management or Maintenance > Factory Reset.

1. Click Restore Default Configuration and confirm.

1. The ONT will reboot — this takes 2-3 minutes.

Hard Reset via Physical Button

1. Ensure the HG8245H5 is powered on (Power LED solid green).

1. Locate the RESET pinhole on the side panel of the gateway.

1. Insert a paperclip firmly and hold for 15 seconds.

1. Watch the front panel LEDs — they will flash simultaneously then go dark, indicating the wipe has begun.

1. Release the pin and wait approximately 2-3 minutes for the full reboot cycle.

1. When the Power and PON LEDs return to solid green, the ONT is online with factory defaults.

1. Connect via Ethernet and navigate to 192.168.100.1 to log in.

Post-Reset Behavior (ISP TR-069)

After resetting an ISP-provided HG8245H5, the TR-069 ACS will automatically re-provision the device within minutes. Your internet service will be restored, but custom WLAN SSIDs and passwords must be reconfigured manually.
